Role summary
The Junior Software Developer is responsible for supporting the delivery of reliable, maintainable, and secure software features. Working under the guidance of senior developers and technical leads, the role involves implementing assigned tasks, fixing defects, participating in code reviews, and learning the company development standards. This position is hybrid and remote-friendly, reporting to the Software Development Lead within the Technology / Product Engineering department. The role is part of the Digital Products business unit at Catapult Ventures, a company committed to using practical technology to enhance business operations.
Requirements
- Diploma, degree or equivalent practical training in software development, computer science or related field
- Ability to write basic code in at least one modern language such as JavaScript, TypeScript, C#, Java or Python
- Basic understanding of HTML, CSS, APIs, databases and version control using Git
- Understanding of debugging, testing and basic software delivery practices
- Curiosity, attention to detail, willingness to learn and ability to ask for help early
